Lutron has a reputation of producing high-quality, reliable products. A part of that reputation is the price you pay for that quality. For most Lutron products, you can find the price pretty easy by going to your favorite hardware store’s website.
However, Lutron Serena Blinds & Shades are a different story. The prices aren’t readily available as they expect that you will have them professionally installed, and get a quote after receiving an in-home consultation.
How much do Lutron Serena shades cost? Lutron Serena shades start at $129, plus shipping and tax, for the most basic shade with no motor. Adding a motor (wired or battery powered) will add $125 per shade. The largest Serena Honeycomb shades, 96” W x 104” H, made with the cheapest material cost $1442.

That will bring you to a page where you can design your shades or blinds for your needs.

It’s somewhat of a tedious process if you just want to know how much Lutron Serena shades cost. And that’s where I can help. I’ve gone through each of the options and created price charts so you can quickly see how much a single shade or blind will cost.

Lutron Serena Shading Options
Here are the options you have for each type of shade and how much it will cost you for each option
Honeycomb Options
Here are the options for the honeycomb shades
Top Back Cover
Back cover eliminates light leakage between headrail and window frame and hides brackets from outside view of window.
Cost: $10-$20 based on width, per shade.
Power Options
Motorized
There are two options when you add a motor: battery powered or wired. Wired means you need an AC adapter and nearby outlet.
Either way, the cost of adding the motor and the Clear Connect RF electronics is the same.
Cost: $270 per shade
Battery Powered
The shades will use standard D or AA batteries and are not supplied by Lutron. Since they are user supplied, we’ll assume you got a decent deal and paid about $1 per battery, and the average shade take 6 batteries.
Cost: $6 per shade.
Wired
The power supply for the shades cost extra, but Lutron does note that you can hire an electrician to install a power panel instead of using a power supply.
The shades do come with 15′ long 12V power cord that is designed to connect to the barrel plug of the Lutron wall adapter.
If you go with a power adapter, here is the cost.
Cost: $40 per shade
Manual
There is no additional cost for manually controlled shades. Lutron Serena manual shades are cordless, and come with a clear acrylic pull tab that is mounted in the middle so you can easily adjust the shades as needed. The tab may be in a different location for larger shades
Mounting
You have the option of mounting the shades inside the window frame or outside of the frame. There is no difference in price for mounting hardware, but you may have to pay more if the width increases when choosing an outside mounting option.
Fabric Style
There are three options for fabric style. The cost of choosing one of the more expensive styles will vary based on how big the shades are, but here are the minimums that it will cost you.
Light Filtering – Single Cell
These are the cheapest option. They will not cost you anything extra. For the smallest, most basic shades, prices start at $349.
Light Filtering – Double Cell
This is the most expensive option. For the smallest, most basic shades, prices start at $424.
Cost: $75 (compared to Light Filtering – Single Cell)
Room Darkening – Single Cell
This is the middle of the road option, but exactly what you want if you don’t want light to come through. For the smallest, most basic shades, prices start at $369.
Cost: $20 (compared to Light Filtering – Single Cell)
Fabric Collection & Color
Color will not have an impact on the price, but the type of fabric you choose, or collections as Lutron calls them, may have a big impact. Here are the starting additional costs per collection.
Cyprus Collection
Additional Cost: None. This is the base option.
Monaco Collection
Additional Cost: $30
Napa Collection
Additional Cost: $523 (I’m guessing this is a pricing error. I’ll update the price once I find it is corrected.)
Rio Collection
Additional Cost: $292 (Not sure if this is an error or not.)
Control
If your shades are motorized, you will need a way to control them. You have the option of remote control, Lutron app, or both. To use the Lutron app, or to integrate the shades with another smart assistant, such as Google or Alexa, you will need a Smart Bridge. A smart bridge connects your shades radio signal to the internet.
There are more accessories to choose from, such as a remote control stand or a sun visor clip for the car. I’m leaving those out to avoid clutter.
Remote Control
Cost: $25
Smart Bridge
Cost: $80
